Cycles

After that glorious Sunday of Barbie and baseball (see last post), every day of our week has started with tantrums and fights.

So. There's that.

Our eldest is not a happy girl. It is worrying.

Perhaps that is why I cling to the happy moments so.

Venus is falling fast in the evening sky. A little lower every night. It'll be gone by the end of the month, and not return (as an evening star, anyway) until next year.

It is, of course, important to remember that it will return. As beautiful as ever.

Sorry to hear that, Mr. Wizard. Such is growing up, though. Cycles, like you said. Let me know if there's something I or the Rockstar can do.

Cycles are indeed reassuring. Sorry to hear that your daughter struggles for happiness. You'll all have it sorted out eventually. Hopefully soon. Patience counts for a lot. I take back all the reminders that they'll be dating someday. You have more than enough to cope with for now. :)

As worrying as it may be right now, your eldest will find her way. I promise.

If you can, let her know we're here for her :) I'm happy to Kart or e-mail her whenever she likes. Or... you know... drive out there again... because school is lousy and I like you lot much better than most here...

I'm blaming bad behavior on this godawful wind this week. It stirs up everything.

It's my understanding that six-burner Viking stoves cure bad behavior forever. So if you ever happened to find yourself in possession of one (theoretically, I'd suggest keeping it.

Cycles indeed, E. Things are already better. And I'm already regretting using Venus falling in the sky as a cheap metaphor for cycles, cuz the literal sense of it is much more interesting.

Hil, you mentioned dating again, if only to say you regret bringing it up so often. Don't make me come up there....

Ahh, Rockstar. Eldest made an avatar for you on the Wii this weekend (she was quite proud). So we might have to meet up with you online and do that crazy Kart thing. I'll be in touch. And remember, the position of Nanny is always open.

Nance, I do pretty much all the cooking around here, and would happily cook on a propane camping stove. So the glorious aesthetic of that stove is somewhat lost on me. Still. I promise we won't sell it. If you promise to come cook on it every once in while.
