Trippy

This isn't Photoshop; it's a real thing, appearing over the skies of Norway this morning. What kind of thing is less certain. UFO'ers are typically certain it's a spaceship, the smart money says it's a rocket spiraling out of control and ejecting fuel as it does so. Neither of those explanations are particularly satisfying. Cool picture, though.

I'm sure it'll make the rounds of the news shows tonight, in the last five minutes they reserve for cute kittens and general weirdness. Then it'll be forgotten.

My own opinion is that there's a lot of unexplained stuff out there. Doesn't mean it's paranormal, or extraterrestrial. We just don't know what it is. We're not as smart as we think we are. Google "electrical sprites" sometime, you'll see what I mean.

Video of the damned thing is here, along with ominous space music in the background.

Was waiting on you to chime in on this. Trippy as all hell. I can't even begin to think of what it might be. Strange wind pattern creates the white swirly, but what is the blue swirly? Are we getting flushed?

Sure is beautiful. Could it not just be Northern lights?

Nice post as for me. It would be great to read something more concerning that topic. Thnx for giving this info.

Eric, I see that's been one of the most emailed photos on Yahoo since it happened. It looks so FAKE. Like someone made it the first day they encountered Photoshop.

Hil, it does look pretty. Northern lights don't make geometric patterns.

123 321, I'll keep you in mind next time I go to London.

Oh I love it! Magic in the skies, how perfectly fitting.

Indeed, we are not as smart as we think we are. We only understand a fraction of our world, and the possibilities of everything around us. Things we believe we understand, we do not. There's been a lot of press recently about the question of what exactly death is, is it real, etc.

We understand very little...and someday I hope we understand whatever made that happen, so that we can see it again!

I was fascinated by this last week. And if we think we are all there is...then we are sorely mistaken. I wish they had stopped for a visit.
