It's prolly due to a lack of caffeine this late in the day, but I saw the headline on the magazine and went WTF? And then looked closer and saw "Onion", and then the title of your post, and promptly hit myself in the head with my shoe.

Love those silly folks....

Wish i coulda been there for the show, but alas, real life intervened.

That seems like much less of a stretch than their usual fare.

Yeah, I had Mona's same reaction. I need to wake up. But on some scary scary level, it is believable. And that means we all need to wake up.

Yeah, Mona, it's subtle enough to warrant a double-take. Gotta love the Onion. Best political satire around.

Real life is like that, Meno. I'll do the show again, someday. It's quite fun, if a tad unnerving.

Yep, they are usually a tad broader in their humor, E. But I don't think they're given enough credit for consistently good, and often very biting, satire. Their thing about Ddiebolt voting machines accidenty revealing the winner of the 08 election prematurely was scary brilliant.

It's very scary, Maggie. Mandating the teaching of creationism. Refusing to accept global warming as a FACT. Gutting NASA's unmanned space expeditions to fund some ill-defined return to the moon. They almost shut off the Hubble just to save money!!! it's like a return to the dark ages.

The show was fun! Bu next time I want more big rubber monsters.

I thought the magazine was real until I read the comments. Sad commentary.
