This is the Republic of Cape Verde, a group of volcanic islands off Africa’s west coast. It's worth clicking to embiggen it, just to check out the detail.
I got it from my most recent favorite website, Space Gizmo. He posts lots of satellite images of Earth. And you gotta dig the name.

Beautiful as always. These images make me feel a little insignificant in the world, but that's not a bad thing. Makes me a little more humble being awed by the existence of these things.
It's a beautiful picture. That site is worth checking out every once in a while; the imagery is always stunning.
